Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna State have resolved to vote massively for President Goodluck Jonathan and ensure that he wins the state.
Vice President Namadi Sambo, who addressed party members and supporters during the inauguration of the Kaduna state chapter of Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organization on Sunday, told the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, to stop wasting their time in campaigning for votes in Kaduna as the state still remains the stronghold of the PDP.
He also debunked the allegations by General Buhari that the Jonathan administration is encouraging and celebrating corruption.
Describing Buhari’s allegation as unfounded and misleading, Sambo stated that the present administration has introduced several measures aimed at eliminating corruption in government circles.
He urged the PDP members to ensure they deliver the state to President Jonathan and also ensure the victory of Governor Muktar Yero in the governorship poll and other elections.
While enumerating some of the achievements of the Jonathan administration in the last four years, Sambo said that the Federal Government has procured sophisticated arms and other military hardware aimed at equipping the nation’s security forces in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorists in the north east.
Although Buhari, under the banner of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), won in Kaduna State in 2011 election, Governor Mukhtar Yero said that this time the state would be fully mobilised for the President.
He noted that as a PDP state, the President should not loose sleep over the antics of the APC and its presidential candidate.
He explained that with the good performance of the PDP government in Kaduna State and at the national level, there is no doubt that Nigerians would vote for the party in the coming election, assuring that no member of the party would be sidelined as it was the case in the past.
High point of the event was the inauguration of the campaign organization and commissioning of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign office by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo.
