To celebrate the brave warriors and reward the winner, residents in Anambra were treated to a special winners gala at the Women Development Centre, Awka.
The event, saw the winner of the 2014 edition of GUS, Chinedu Ubachukwu cart home a cash prize of N10m and a brand new Ford Explorer Sport SUV. The 24-year old, an Anambra State indigene, becomes the 11th winner of the Gulder Ultimate Search.
Otto Canon Chimenem, who came 4th in the competition, won the Viewers Choice award and was compensated with a cash prize of N1.5m and a brand new Ford Focus car while this year, the Last Girl Standing, 25 years old Samantha Appi, from Bayelsa State went home with N1.45m and a brand new Ford Ecosport.
Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, who crowned the Ultimate Man, expressed his excitement for a successful hosting and stressed that he would continue to find means of further exposing the state’s tourism potentials.
Other contestants won monetary prizes and Gulder branded gold chains.
Ubachukwu and 13 others were in the Aguleri jungle in Anambra State for 26 days in contest on who becomes the ultimate winner.
A graduate of Petroleum and Gas Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, Ubachukwu, who hails from Anambra State, edged out co-finalists, Emmanuel Afolabi and Nne Cosy Joe, to discover the mythical General’s Helmet, a symbol of this year’s search, aptly tagged The Mission.
The event anchored by Okey Bakassi became electrified as Don Jazzy and Dr Sid were the stage.
Both artistes gave a good account of themselves and got the finalists and the audience on their feet, singing after them, before the official DJ of the event, DJ Big N took over and took the party to a whole new level.
